Psalm 118:24 KJV

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Every day is a new day, where we can start over again praising God and expecting his bounty in our life. All over the word of God, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament, God reminds us of His love and care. He wants to meet our need, Phil 4:19. He is our sufficiency I Corinthians 9:8. He is our sufficiency so we can be sufficient in all things.  III John 2, He wants us to prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper.

The chapter of Matthew is a great chapter to read in it’s entirety sometime, if you haven’t before. In 6:19-21 it says:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

In these verses treasures stands for our thoughts. Don’t think about all the many things you can have on this earth, whether a better house, a better car, things in general. In the grand scheme of things those things will be a waste of your thinking. Instead think about heavenly things, these things are incorruptible, and thieves can’t steal them away. ‘For where your treasure-thought is- there will your heart be also.’ Our heart here is talking about the innermost part of the mind. It isn’t the organ beating in the center of your chest. This heart is in the center of your mind, it’s what makes you,  you. When you think about something long enough it becomes you.

This is why those that are anxious or worry have problems in other areas eventually. We were not built to carry stress of any kind around. We are supposed to ‘cast it’ to God to handle for us.

Back to Matthew chapter 6, in verse 25-27

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

Matthew 6:31:

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, what shall we drink? or, wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, andhis righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

God knows where all the fowls of the field are, he knows about all the cattle on the hills, He’s ready willing and able to take care of us.

In Psalms 50:10 it states:

For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills?

Psalm 50:14:

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou slalt glorify me.

God is a God of growth, increase, beauty, righteousness, plenty, prosperity, health, deliverance, wisdom. We need to give him permission to be involved in our lives. Without that permission, He can do nothing. That’s why it says we need to ask Him. Many wonder, why do we need to ask? If he is an all knowing God, then He knows what we need. When we ask, we are giving our permission for His help.

Our God is worthy to be praised!

Our God is worthy to be praised!

Have you a heart that’s weary? Have a need in your life – it doesn’t matter how big, or how small or what category it might be in, God is still interested in helping you out.

Often many of us might tell God how best to meet that need of our, but when we do that, we are putting Him in a box, we are limiting Him. The best thing for us to do is not to worry about the future, nor feel guilty about the past. If you find that difficult to accomplish, then try praising God for who He is, and/or thank Him for what you do have now.

In II Samuel 22:4 and Psalms 18:3 KJV it states:

I shall call on the Lord who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Our God, the Father of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, is God Almighty, God Elohim and God Jehovah, he is worthy of our praise. In the Old Testament God tells us over and over again that we should praise Him all the time.

Psalm 35:27-28

Let them shout for joy and be glad that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

And my tongue shall speak of thy praise and of they righteousness all the day long.

How  you choose to praise God is entirely  up to you, in the last Psalm it speaks totally about praising God in various ways.

Psalm 150:1-6

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in the firmament of his power.

Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Praise  him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

Some people praise God for what he has given us; for having his spirit inside us,  and all the other categories of which you and I are blessed. For my life, I praise God for who He is and thank Him for what He has given me. I try to praise Him each morning before I get up and start my day. I’ve been doing this now for almost a year; there are days at a time I might forget, but when I realize that I have forgotten, I do pretty well getting back into the groove.

My husband and I own a business which is seasonal, and work part-time in retail. We ‘get by’ but we have debts and usually have a very difficult time getting through the winter, and then play ‘catch up’ until about June until we try to save for the next winter.

This past year, while practicing this principle of praising God as  much as possible, helped me to not be anxious about financial matters. When I would begin to get concerned about a big bill coming up or that type of thing, I was able to put the need back where it belonged, on God’s shoulders. He has already promised to meet every need. Phil 4:19; II Corinthians 9:8.

James 1:17 states:

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, which whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Any good quality or characteristic we’ve received, we received from God. He can only give what He is. He is Holy Spirit, John 4:4.

These are some of the many things I praise Him for:

He is righteous, sanctified, redemption, deliverance, faithful, fruitful, good, tender, gentle, kind, prosperous, victorious, upright, He has integrity, He is wise, He is able and willing, cleansing, compassion, concerned, helper, seeker, finder, lifter, lover. When necessary He will hide us from our enemies. He is the God of plenty.  He nurtures, comforts, consoles. He is our high tower, our rock, sword, shield, river of living waters, the light, and so much more.

This past year was the best year we had financially in twenty-two years of marriage. God met our needs, we had some left over to take a few trips. We were not bound down by money concerns. This winter we had someone give us a large sum of money out of the blue, without mentioning to them we had a need.

God is worthy to be praised!

Praise God for who He is, thank Him for His many blessings on your life and watch your life turn around. Expect miracles every day.

God Bless you.
